Thoughts on Productivity and Rest

Modern society always pushes us to become better. If we go to YouTube to get some of our daily motivation, most of these videos push us to hustle, do this, do that, and work long hours. This is the hustle culture. Everyone wants to keep up with the Joneses.
There’s nothing wrong with working hard and hustling. Everyone wants to live a better life. We want to gain more money to have a better life, especially right now during the pandemic. Having money gives us financial security.
But what about rest?
Society keeps telling us to be productive, and it’s becoming toxic. We are all different. Our approach to certain situations in life is different.
Sometimes we need to take a pause. Too much productivity can lead to stress and burnout. Set a day to relax and do nothing. The best ideas in life come from doing nothing. Relax. It’s okay to take a break.
We need time to do nothing. Sometimes doing nothing is better than doing something. When we take a break, we recharge our mind and body.
For me, I consider resting to be productive. It allows me to take a step back and recharge. When I rest, I get ideas. The idea for this blog post came from doing nothing.
What we need in life is balance and simplicity. Having a simple and balanced life will do wonders for us.
