The Idea Of My Second Book: Going Japanese

Many people may wonder why a Filipino will write a book about the Japanese. Shouldn’t I write a book about my nationality instead? Maybe I’ll write about it in the future.

Last year was a tough one for all of us, suddenly our life changed. We don’t know when this will end. When I had covid, I realized that life is really short. The good thing is I just lost my sense of taste and smell. Those covid moments made me question what I’m doing with my life. “Should I just settle because I wrote a book? What now? What about the book I want to write about the Japanese? When will I write it?” These are some questions that were in my head for quite some time. I started my research and self study about the Japanese way of life and Philosophy in 2019. After I read books, watch documentaries or videos, I felt stuck. I didn’t know how to start it. The idea is there, but I didn’t know what to do. When the pandemic struck, I decided to do it. “No more excuses.” I told myself. It’s time to sit down, write and go with the flow.

The idea of Going Japanese is to learn about them: how they live their lives, their philosophy, and their history. I created an informative, easy to follow guide and lessons for us about the Japanese culture and way of life such as

  • The reason for your being

  • Lessons from a tea ceremony

  • Lessons from the lone samurai

And more..

Ever since I visited Japan, my life changed. My perspective changed. I became curious about Zen, Bushido, Shinto, Teaism and so much more. I believe it is where I found my peace. Going Japanese is the product of my experience there.

The purpose of this book is to share with you what I learned about them and improve your life the Japanese way.

Fast forward to September 2021, I’m thrilled to announce that Going Japanese is available this September 19, 2021 on Amazon Kindle and other ebook stores worldwide.
