Reading Is Essential

Reading a book can change your life.
It will open your mind to new ideas. It is a way of awakening your stagnant mind.
When I read a book, I think of it as a mindful exercise. Nowadays, distraction is everywhere. Our phones are always with us. When I read, I focus as much as I can.
There is, of course, a caveat to reading books: not everything you read applies to your life. Choose a book that fits your interests. This will help you finish a book and not get bored in the middle of your reading session.
If you’re not the reading type, don’t worry. I’m not forcing you to read like a machine. You can use a kindle, watch on YouTube or listen to audiobooks. When I’m not in the mood to read, I watch YouTube videos about a specific book. For example, once I finished How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan, I went to YouTube to know more about his work.
Self-made billionaire Mark Cuban says his kids use social media to learn, and it was a “battle” for them to read books. Cuban, on the other hand, spends “four to five” hours a day reading. You can read more of it here.
Reading is a way of learning. That’s why it is essential.
