A Little Positive Suffering

“The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.” - Marcus Aurelius

When we encounter problems and adversity, we often view this as a negative event in our lives. We do this because things don’t go the way we want it to be.

This is where we reject the present, start living in the past, and anxiously wait for the future. We sulk and be unhappy in our current situation.

However, we forget that we always have a choice. We have a choice and a decision to make when our problems brought misery to our lives.

There are always two choices:

First, we enter the state of sadness because of what happens to us and play as a victim.

Second, we change our perspective in life and let misery cure our incorrect ways of viewing the world. This is a time for us to rethink how we view our core beliefs and life itself. By altering our perspective, we can get closer to nature and reality.

Look at the current state of our society and we can see that most people often make the first choice. Why? Because they forget that life is not always sunshine and rainbows.

People get too comfortable and live the life they only know. They forget that they can’t control everything. Once they get hit with adversity, they play as a victim and blame everyone they see.

We must always remember that life is never complete without misery. This is part of nature and reality. We can’t change what happened already. What we can change is how we view the problems and adversity reality hits us.
