Asking 'Why' Is Essential In Life
Life is a journey and experience like no other. Every day we can be better than who we are yesterday, achieve tasks towards our goal, experience growth and have a journey towards the unknown. There are a lot of mysteries and questions in life some of these cannot be answered throughout our lifetime, and some of these can be answered by going through challenges, adversity, facing our fears and curiosity.
We human beings are curious by nature. We love to ask questions, learn and explore the unknown.
Remember when we were kids we love to ask questions even though some of these questions don’t make any sense you just like to ask because of your curiosity and your drive to get information. Unfortunately, as we grow into adults our curiosity diminishes, we stop seeking knowledge and stop asking questions. Why? Because we were thought to fit in, our critical thinking hasn't developed the way it should be, and our fear and doubts grow too.
When was the last time you asked yourself the question “Why?”
Why am I here?
Why am I doing this?
Asking yourself "WHY" is essential to your life and can help you live a meaningful existence. That’s why it is necessary for each one of us to ask and answer these questions.
I remember when a client consulted me for his website that will be used as a personal brand. I asked him tons of questions and when I asked him “Why are you here? Why are you doing this? What is your purpose in life?" He couldn’t answer. It took us more than an hour before he could explain and go on with the consultation.
I ask these to my clients all the time so that we can identify what type of brand we are going to build and it helps the client to overcome adversity because they are interested and the work has meaning, and it sets them in the right direction.
A problem with our society nowadays is we live a life without direction. All we care about is the money and what society dictates us to be. Also, some people found the right direction; unfortunately, the ran out of time because of old age and deadly accidents.
Living a life without purpose or direction is dangerous as Fyodor Dostoyevsky once said, “The mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for.”
Once you identify your "WHY" you live a meaningful life. A life that makes you cherish each moment. A life that can inspire people, an experience that could make a difference.
Your WHY is the reason you wake up every morning. Your WHY will help you overcome failures, persevere through challenges and achieve personal growth.
